Default Drawing/Pinging

I was in a pick up group and there was some one that kept spamming the mini map with pings, drawing racist and vulgar things. I told them if they don’t stop I will be leaving the group. Shortly they after they stopped (I think that’s cause the one person left).

That got me thinking of how to prevent that from happening again. Right now as it stands there is no way to know who is pinging or drawing and no way to stop them. So I have come up with a few suggestions.

1. Allow the group leader to have draw/ping access and allow the leader to assign the rights to other individuals.

2. Allow the group leader the ability to kick people during missions. Kicking would zone them out back to the closes town or the town they started the group with.

3. During the mission have a color indicator of each member and that same color will be displayed if they draw/ping on the map.

Going along with number 2 there would probably have to have /makeleader <name> implemented.

I think this change would defiantly lead to better grouping, and if you are in a group that the leader is the problem starter you know who to put on your ignore list.

What do you think?

I agree with most of the general ideas there, but disagree with the kick mid mission

This would lead to peopel getting together a large group to deal with the mob that they can't get passed, then kicking everyone else to try take the boss alone etc, and get max xp/items.

Maybe if the monster levels were depenendant on the average party level or something, yes.

No, never add a kick funtion, would lead to griefing.

Mob levels are also fine.

However I like all this other ideas about being able to know who pings are whom, and disallowing some people from doing them.

Yes, but no point in saying all the same things again when we can just add on to that thread.

Hey here is an expansion on the differnt color for differn't people idea.
To figure out who is what color, make the life bar of that person in the party menu, the color that there pings and lines are =D
and if this was said in the thread posted in here, I didn't steal it from that for I never read it lol

That wouldn't work, as colors are already used. Red is normal, faded red is bleeding, purple is hexed, green is poisoned. It's easier to just have a color dot in the life bar or something.

I would go with #3. You can't have much variety in the colors (otherwise some will blend in), but you can have enough. You could tell which character corresponds to which color by a dot by his/her name.

Another purpose this serves is to prevent people from usurping the leader's role. Say, if the leader draws arrows to mobs you should attack, another player may draw an arrow to a mob that the leader didn't want to attack. Maybe make the leader have the default white color so it's easy to see and easy to distinguish from the other colors.

I was also thinking there could be an addition to the mini map that is a box that would list the last person that drew/pinged. As far as the kick method, All other games I have played had a kick method and It never was a problem. If some one is going to kick you to get xp or some thing....... don't group with them, plain and simple.

Iv been in a group where some moron drew a swasticka, a penis complete with scrotum, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

Now fair enough the developers arnt going to introduce any means to combat this, that is there call, but often and daily i get extremelly annoyed and disgusted at the near constant abuse iv to put up with some times, and more often than not i just log out.
This imo, not level caps, or pve grind or even local chat spam, is this games worst feature.

The game has very supportive options to play with henchmen in the stead of party members to free you from the bondage of neccissary party play. You are not forced to play with anyone to get where you are going, so if you do not like someone you are not forced to play with them, you can form parties with whoever you want to, and fill in the gaps with henchmen, if someone is bothering you, you have the right to leave, and join up with any players that want to stay with you. Only in a party dependant game can someone demand that players follow a code of conduct, because people have to get along to get where they want, that is not true to this game so you cannot demand for proper conduct, the license probably states that racist statements are not tolerated in the game but the most they may do is restrict thier play and slap them on the hand, you will not see them kick out players unless they are spamming offensive materials in city areas, for which they will first make a warning.

I have to agree. I've wished many times I could just use /ignore on someone in the party. Whether their drawing genitals on the radar or just calling the group n00bs because he ran off while we were fighting something to take on an army of 500 things and died.

Kicking would lead to a hell of alot of abuse, but the color idea was one I was thinking of myself

Good idea!

I think I was in the same group with you, that group was the one that made me write this post.
